**Position:** Data Science Intern\
**Location:** Hybrid (Colombo, Sri Lanka)\
**Job Type:** Full-Time

### Job Summary

As a **Data Science Intern**, your primary focus will be building and evaluating models that extract insights from **images and video streams**. You will contribute to projects involving object detection, activity recognition, image classification, and visual data preprocessing. This internship offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge computer vision technologies and real-world video-based datasets.

### Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and fine-tune **vision-based machine learning models** for image and video classification, object detection, and tracking.
* Work with datasets containing video footage and high-resolution images, including annotation, augmentation, and preprocessing.
* Implement and evaluate deep learning architectures (e.g., CNNs, 3D CNNs, YOLO, or similar).
* Assist in optimizing models for accuracy and speed on video inputs.
* Support the integration of models into applications or pipelines for real-time or batch analysis.
* Document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret results.

### Qualifications:

* Background in **Data Science, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence**, or related fields.
* Hands-on experience with Python and libraries like **OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras**.
* Understanding of core computer vision tasks (e.g., object detection, segmentation, video classification).
* Experience working with **image/video datasets**, preprocessing, and annotation tools.
* Familiarity with common architectures like **YOLO, ResNet, or MobileNet** is a plus.
* Prior project or internship experience in image/video-based analysis is highly preferred.
